EFFECTIVE TB INTERVIEWING FOR CONTACT INVESTIGATION
TB interviewing is an essential element of a TB control program. It is important for health care workers to be able to effectively conduct interviews in order to identify close contacts of TB patients and ensure that they are medically evaluated. As a result, individuals with active TB and Latent Tuberculosis Infection are identified and treated. This video produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is public domain and therefore can be copied for noncommercial use. The objectives include controls for isolation, recommendations for waiting rooms, calculation of air change rates based on room volume and room exhaust, and selection, use and placement of HEPA filter units. A description of negative pressure for isolation rooms and a demonstration of how to use room pressure monitors is also included. Last the video will cover an estimation of room clearance times.
